Newly finished, furnished lake home sets new trends

Glenn Siddle with Newcastle Construction wanted to make a “big splash” with his first effort at building lake homes at The Ridge. Judging by the comments from the nearly 500 visitors on opening night, he succeeded! Visitor comments are still rippling all across Lake Martin.

He selected a lot on the Ridge’s Cypress Island to build a three-story family lake home which was completed in 2014. The house turned out so well that the Siddle family spends a lot of time there. Like many builders, Glenn wanted to take what he learned about lake life to create his take on the “perfect” lake home.

The real estate team at Russell Lands On Lake Martin decided to work with Glenn to find the right blend of location, design, décor and furnishings to help kickoff Newcastle Construction’s efforts at the lake.  South Ridge Harbor, on the southernmost tip of The Ridge peninsula, presented the ideal location for his take on the ideal lake home.

This section of The Ridge provided a variety of heavily treed lots, deep water and choices of either big-water views or protected coves. Glenn selected three of the very best lots—one on a point lot in a protected cove to create the ideal lake home; we call it the Breakwater.

The Newcastle décor team, working with Lake Martin’s own Nan Jackson and Seibels of Birmingham, created a beautiful, new, fully furnished lake home. The home is for sale, of course, either furnished or unfurnished, but for a few weeks, the home will open on the weekends for anyone wanting to see the 2016 take on the “ideal” lake home.

The house opened for the first time on August 20. The overflow crowd of opening night visitors were very impressed with the size of the home (five bedrooms on two levels), the lake views available from each room of the house, the rustic décor with beautiful poplar wood walls and the creative blending of custom made lake furniture.

Let us give you a tour

Given the tremendous response and positive comments, we decided to open the house on weekends through the end of October (unless, of course, someone needs to move in sooner). Whether you are planning to build a new lake home, renovate the one you already own or buy a new lake home, we invite you to come out to see this new waterfront showpiece today.
