Russell Do it Center presents wildcat carving to BRHS

To show our support for the pivotal role that education and high school athletics play in our local community, Russell Do it Center commissioned Corey Worden of Beneath the Bark Chainsaw Carvings to carve something for us that we hope will be a symbol of our continued support for Benjamin Russell High School for years to come.

Worden, who also carved “Kaw-liga,” the wooden Indian at Kowaliga Restaurant, spent months carving the wildcat mascot from a single log. The carving was unveiled to a cheering crowd by Russell Do it Center General Manager Kirby Scales at the September 22 BRHS pep rally.

“It was an honor and a privilege to have been a part of Benjamin Russell High School,” said Scales. “This is the heartbeat of the city, and Russell Do it Center is proud to continue supporting the school, both academically and athletically.”

“This is our fourth time doing this,” he said. “We’ve donated similar carvings to Wetumpka, Elmore County and Chilton County.”
