When  Russell Forest Run participants are asked to share their favorite part of the run, we always get a handful of different answers. Most of them say they love the after party in The Stables at Russell Crossroads. Of course, the die-hard runners say, “the toughness of the course,” and rounding out the list is, “the Finish Line.” Quite a few have added that they love the enthusiasm of the volunteers on the course — number of different answers for the same question.

The Russell Forest Run is Saturday, February 24, at Russell Crossroads. It’s hard to believe that this is the ninth year for this run! Registration is open at www.russellforestrun.com, or you can print the registration form from the website and mail it to us.

As in the past, we will start the races with the cannon blast at 7:45am for the 10K and 7:55am for the 5K. Registration fees are $40 for each race, and everyone will receive the long-sleeve tech shirt (while supplies last, so register now) and an invitation to the post-race party in The Stables.

We look forward to this run every year because it’s a lot of fun, plus it benefits the Alexander City Schools Education Foundation as they supply the technology needs of the students in the Alexander City School System.
