Timber

The Russell Lands Timber Division manages the Company's forests. Several thousand acres are under active management to grow and preserve beautiful timber for future investment, development and recreational activities. The Company's foresters employ quality silvicultural practices to meet the Company's diverse forestry needs. Controlled burns and mulching enhance the forests by removing accumulated combustible materials and establishing a forest floor of native grasses and forbs. Abundant wildlife viewing opportunities exist as a result of these management practices.

Pineywoods Mulch Company

Pineywoods Mulch Company provides bark products for commercial and residential landscaping utilizing the entire tree as an energy conservation endeavor.

Russell Materials

Russell Materials provides natural materials for sale by the truckload including clay gravel, 823 spec sandy clay gravel, pit run, fill dirt and top soil.

ECON: The Energy Conservation Company

ECON specializes in providing alternate fuels for industry. The primary thrust has been towards wood-residue fuels. Since the company's inception we have provided nearly 5,000,000 tons of wood to industries in the Southeast, saving over 5,000,000 barrels of oil.

ECON's efforts over more than 30 years also include the successful development of biomass gasifier "reactors" to power conventional internal combustion engines. In December 1979, ECON's first wood-powered car made a coast-to-coast trek from Jacksonville, Florida to Los Angeles, California with much media fanfare.
