Lake Martin Resource Association (LMRA) is an active member-supported, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, preserving and protecting Lake Martin and the adjacent areas. LMRA, founded by Ben Russell, has been working to better the lake community for over 38 years and LMRA advocates stabilization of Summer and Winter lake levels and higher levels for longer time periods. LMRA promotes environmental education thru lake clean-up and recycling efforts. LMRA purchases, places and maintains hazard buoys on Lake Martin. LMRA promotes and offers education to improve boating safety. LMRA sponsors the $5,000 Reward and Crime Prevention Program for LMRA members for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone breaking and entering a member's residence. LMRA sponsors a lakeside address sign project. LMRA works with all appropriate agencies and organizations towards a better lake and lake community.
