Add a Little Live Music to Your Friday Evenings

Friday On The Green, now in its eighth year, has become the way to relax on Friday evenings. From a meager beginning with a plywood and pallet stage to our awesome covered-but-rustic stage with stained glass window, Friday On The Green continues to bring in great talent from all over the Lake Martin region. Held each Friday evening during the summer from 6:30 until 8:30, the event is super family-friendly. You can even bring the pup on a leash and your favorite food and drinks in the cooler.

We’ve taken some measures to help everyone practice social distancing while still enjoying the show. If you haven’t been out in a while, or if you have never been, come join us. The talent gets better every year.

Tina Marie

On August 21, another first-timer to FOG is Tina Marie Hosey. Tina Marie has been singing around the Lake Martin area for as long as we can remember. She is a great mentor for those wanting to grow vocally. Tina Marie sings across many genres from gospel to country and some good ole rock and roll. Tina will sing some of her favorites before she takes on the persona of Patsy Cline. If you are a Patsy Cline fan, you don’t want to miss Tina Marie.

Jilla and Kurt

As the month winds down, we welcome back Jilla Webb and Kurt McKinney on August 28. Jilla spent years on the strip as a singer in Las Vegas but returned to Alabama as a private vocal coach. Recently, Jilla accepted a position at Auburn University as Professor of Practice in the Music Department. Jilla’s unique style lets her smoothly transition from Stevie Nicks to Judy Garland and others in between. She is a singer and performer with wonderful stage presence! Kurt McKinney is a guitarist, pianist, performer, composer, and music instructor from Montgomery. Kurt plays all over the state of Alabama and is seen accompanying Jilla Webb, Chuck Lofton, Crisie Isbell, Beth Cooper, Russell Craig, and others. Kurt’s music has also been featured in the soundtrack of the movie Southern Heart.

August is a great month for new entertainment on the Town Green. Bring your family and meet your friends for a great time on Friday nights.
