Construction of Lake Homes Underway

Construction shifts from roads to homes in The Willows

In 2018, we released the first phase of The Willows of Willow Point. For many years, those familiar with that area of the lake have been waiting for this property to be released. The gentle topography, big water views down Pitchford Hollow, the beautiful forest and proximity to Willow Point Golf & Country Club created a strong desire for this property.

Since 2018, we have released 64 waterfront homesites in three phases. Neither we, nor those who had been waiting, have been disappointed with the results. The large, beautiful homesites were an instant hit with 51 going under contract. The results have been unmatched in recent history.

Those waiting to get into this area were clearly sitting on ready. Normally, a waterfront homesite sells and years pass before construction begins. That is not the case for The Willows, where multiple projects are either finished or underway. Here is a snapshot of current activity:

• 19 homes are either completed or substantially underway
• 5 homes have been approved recently by the Architectural Review Committee and are due to break ground
• 11 homes are in some final phases of design and or bidding by contractors
• 8 owners have started custom design

This is very impressive activity for a newly developed lake home neighborhood. One might even describe it as “instant neighborhood.”

There are many factors that made this possible. We think the already-developed southern shore of Pitchford Hollow, Willow Glynn, offer excellent examples of beautiful lake home designs. These newly built homes in The Willows drew design influence from their sister neighborhood across the slough.

Another factor influencing the fast start is that many key players were already in place. The Willows is but one Russell Lands On Lake Martin neighborhood. For years, we have cultivated relationships with the team that brings this all together. They include:

• Approved Designers and Architects who have created a portfolio of plans
• Approved Builders who have proven their expertise in building beautiful lake homes
• Relationships with landscape architects, civil engineers, and dock companies
• Design Guidelines for custom homes
• Sales and implementation team to facilitate the overall process
