Derby Day At The Stables – Russell Crossroads – Canceled

May 2, 2020 | 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Due to the COVID-19 Outbreak, the folks at Churchill downs have postponed the Run For The Roses until Labor Day Weekend! Because it is Labor Day Weekend, we will cancel this event for 2020. See you in 2021!

If this doesn’t scream Kentucky Derby, nothing does!!

The sun shines bright in the old Kentucky home, Tis summer, the people(children) are gay;
The corn-top’s ripe and the meadow’s in the bloom, while the birds make music all the day.

Weep no more my lady. Oh! Weep no more today!
We will sing one song for the old Kentucky home, for the old Kentucky home, far away.

The young folks roll on the little cabin floor, all merry, all happy and bright;
By’n by hard times comes a knocking at the door, then my old Kentucky home, Good-night!

Weep no more my lady. Oh! Weep no more today!
We will sing one song for the old Kentucky home, for the old Kentucky home, far away.

Our Derby Day party is like none other. We encourage everyone to wear some Derby attire, from sear sucker suits and buckskin shoes to unique hats, there are great prizes! We have the most awesome mint juleps, pimento cheese stuffed eggs, a sweet or two, and more. If you haven’t been to Derby Day at The Stables, why not give it a try! It is fun, we do raise money for our friends at Children’s Harbor (Ask for details, but it involves you bringing a few five-dollar bills along.), and if you choose, you don’t have to spend a dime.

We’d love for you to join us for Derby Day, so come watch the “most exciting two minutes in sports” with your friends or make some new ones!
