12^th Annual Russell Forest Run

For 2021, we are adding a new feature to the Russell Forest Run! The 10K and 5K runs will still offer runners a chance to join us in person at Russell Crossroads on February 27th, but for those who can’t join us in person, we are offering a virtual component. The 10K will begin at 7:45 and the 5K will soon follow. The virtual option is a “timed” run anywhere event. You will need to complete the full 10k distance during one activity, not multiple combined activities. Times will be accepted beginning Saturday (2/20/2021) through Saturday (2/27/2021). Times can be automatically updated using the RaceJoy phone app or manually entered on the results page.

From the starting line to post-race, 2021 Russell Forest Run runners can expect a few changes, but the outcome will be the same – raising those much-needed dollars for the Alexander City Schools Education Foundation. More details are becoming available, and registration is now open at russellforestrun.com!

Runners remember, as of last year, we have a new course for most of the Russell Forest Run. The course takes you under highway 63 and for the 10Kers offers a more spectacular view from Heaven Hill! Take a look at the course map!

Entry fee, for all options, is just $40 per runner/walker (increases to $50.00 after midnight on the 26th)

Registration for the 2021 runs is open! Over the past 11 years, the Russell Forest Run has donated nearly $90,000 to the Alexander City Schools Education Foundation. Come be a part, bring your running/walking friends for a very good cause – plus, in the end, it is fun!
