Russell Forest Run Coming Up Fast

Time sure flies. We’re now inside of a month until the 2019 Russell Forest Run, and we’re celebrating its tenth year. It doesn’t seem like that long ago we were preparing for our first “Run Through the Forest” to support the Alexander City Schools Education Foundation, but here we are—excited about the 2019 event and more than $60,000 for the foundation since 2010.
Through the years, runners have come from all over the Southeast (and even a pair from Germany once) to participate in a couple of the most unique races in the country. They leave the joint-pounding pavement behind for a 5K and 10K through the trails of the Russell Forest and its beautiful scenery. But, don’t drag your feet—the registration price goes up on race day.
Online registration is open right up until race time, but the entry fee increases to $50 per race after 11:59pm on February 22.
Comments from participants routinely tout the challenge and the setting, and the post-race party at The Stables always scores high marks. Live music, our famous hot grits bar and cold beer are popular complements to the lively awards ceremony.
We’re hoping our tenth year will be the biggest and best yet, so please register early at www.russellforestrun.com.
