Add to your calendar: RXR Fest Memorial Day weekend

Published: 04.29.2016

A few years ago, we made the decision to move our Southern Music Festival from The AMP to Russell Crossroads as RXR Fest! RXR Fest is becoming one of the most popular Memorial Day events on Lake Martin. This year, as in the past, Friday and Saturday of RXR Fest will be free and held on the Town Green at Russell Crossroads. The talent line up this year is phenomenal.

Friday, May 27

At 6:30, we welcome to the Town Green Stage – Sweet Tea. Sweet Tea is a dynamic trio that is currently making their mark on country music.  Hailing from Alabama, Kate Falcon, Victoria Camp and Savannah Coker have joined forces to give country music fans their first taste of an all-female trio since the Dixie Chicks and the Pistol Annies. Their harmonies and beautiful blend of southern charm will leave you wanting more! They are all singer/songwriters and musicians, but most importantly, you will see true entertainers.

At 8:15 on Friday the guys of Union Road from Eclectic continue the fun! They are one of the best party bands in the southeast!  Union Road will play all of your favorite 90’s alternative, 80’s rock, country, and party songs!  Although they specialize in weddings, fraternity events, and all other types of parties they will entertain you as well!   With upbeat  music and a top-notch light show they will make Friday night one to remember!

At 6:30, The Bank Walkers kick things off with their rich sounds and spot-on instrumentation. This extraordinary group of guys from Alexander City can play just about anything but they tend to lean toward the classics, from the Allman Brothers to Merle Haggard, and a little Bob Dylan for good measure. These guys bring great music in their own unique style. Make sure you grab a spot close to the stage so you can catch every note!

At 8:15,
we welcome Atlas Road Crew (ARC). ARC calls themselves South Carolina rock ‘n’ roll, shot with southern soul accents. Formed in fall of 2011, Atlas Road Crew is rapidly building one of the most loyal fan bases on the East Coast, packing venues to capacity from South Carolina to New York City, and expanding quickly to major US cities in between.

The overwhelming positive response to the band’s latest recorded effort Halfway to Hopkins, produced by Grammy Award winner Rick Beato, has this young band quickly becoming the Southeast’s “must see” live act of 2016.

Sunday, May 29

On Sunday, RXR Fest, as in the past, moves to the lawn at SpringHouse restaurant where Chef Rob McDaniel and staff will present the best in southern barbeque. Jonathan Bloom will provide the music from 6:30-10. Bring your friends and family out for some southern style food and great music. Jonathan’s love for music is evident in every note he sings, and he sings them well. Look for Jonathan to sing your favorites along with a few of his! Tickets for Sunday night are $55.00 and include barbeque, beer and wine. They will sell fast, so buy yours today by calling SpringHouse at 256-215-7080.

RXR Fest is another fun filled weekend on Lake Martin. Make your plans to join us now.
