The 9th annual Russell Forest Run to benefit the Alexander City Schools Education Foundation kicks off at 7:45 with a cannon shot for the 10K, followed at 7:55 by the 5K. The Russell Forest Run has become famous for a couple of steep climbs, including a trip to Heaven on the back side of the 10K, plus the Grits Bar and post-race party held in The Stables at Russell Crossroads.
