We’re often encouraged to reconnect with nature. If you’re a runner, you’ve probably clocked way too many miles pounding pavement. Here’s your opportunity to participate in one of the best race events in the Southeast and experience much more organic surroundings. Now in its ninth year, the Russell Forest Run 5K and 10K will wind you through the picturesque Russell Forest over rolling hills and past scenic vistas.

Each race starts with a cannon shot at Russell Crossroads, delivers a challenge and a remarkable experience for the runners, and culminates in our almost-famous after-race party at The Stables, complete with grits bar, cold beer, live music by The Bank Walkers, and awards presentations.

Entry for either race is $40 and includes a long-sleeve high-performance race shirt and the after-party. Awards are for 10-year age groups from 0 to 70+.

Many look forward to this run every year because it’s a lot of fun, plus it benefits the Alexander City Schools Education Foundation as they supply the technology needs of the students in the Alexander City School System. Register now at www.RussellForestRun.com. Walkers are welcome to join the fun. If you have questions, call race organizer, Robert Gunn, at 256.397.1019.
