Friday on the Green Extended Another Week

We’ve added another date and extended our Friday on the Green series! On September 25, we welcome back to the Green Stage—Russell Craig! Russell was with us in June and agreed to come back and finish off the regular season for us.

Russell’s music can be described as Americana with a country twist. He will play our favorite cover songs and some of his originals!

In addition to his music, Russell has a passion for helping others. He was born with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a progressive disease that eventually causes total blindness. Russell says, “Growing up, I believe I focused too much on trying to blend in with my peers rather than trying to adapt to my disability. Instead of thriving, I was surviving in terms of my abilities. My goal in life is to help people with disabilities realize their worth and reach their true potential.”

Russell recently received his bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation and disability studies from Auburn University and has been accepted into the VRT Master’s program at Western Michigan University where he will be pursuing dual master’s degrees in Vision Rehabilitation Therapy and Orientation and Mobility.
